Learn with Us

Sunday School: Knox takes a learning centre approach to Sunday school. Activities for all ages include games, crafts, music, and discussion circles to foster interaction between students and encourage active participation by all. We are a welcoming group and look forward to laughing as we learn about God and learn from each other. Students explore the key stories of the bible and discover ways to apply the lessons to their daily lives. We welcome children between the ages of 3-18 to attend whenever they are able.

Youth Group: We have an active youth group that meets every second Sunday evening September to June from 6:45 to 8:45. Grades 7 to 12 are welcome to come and join us for activities that are fun and meaningful.

Katie Brown – Sunday School superintendent

Katie graduated from the Peterborough Business College, where she learned organizational skills and the ability to work well on her own, or with others. When her 4 children arrived, she stayed home to raise them and opened her home-based daycare, which she has successfully run for over 35 years. She has served on numerous committees with Knox United Church and volunteered in various organizations in the community. Over the years, she has helped with neighbourhood plays, learned how to play the piano and run an after-school homework club. In her spare time, she likes to read, garden and knit.

Katie hopes to bring knowledge, patience and belief in all children that she has experienced through her daycare years to help the children feel comfortable and open to learning. She is excited to work with the children at Knox, to expand their knowledge of Jesus, and help develop a love of Christian music. Her goals are to encourage a sincere love of the stories in the Bible, instill in each child the knowledge of God’s love for them and to respect and honour the journey each child takes through our Sunday school program. We would love to get to know your children.
